I feel sure people will have pointed out to Mr Edwards that he is wide of the mark with his criticisms of fox-hunting (Letters, March 13).

Hunting finishes before the breeding season is under way and, in any case, nature has protected vixens by making them scentless and therefore unhuntable by scent hounds.

The fox numbers have hardly dwindled, as anyone going on a journey by road will have noticed.

Perhaps Mr Edwards could save more foxes by making a 30 miles per speed limit on roads during the night?
