John Harris (Letters, March 15) has misunderstood my reference of the latest edition of City News to the district auditor.

This is nothing to do with the early release of the newspaper but that, in my view, the headline on the paper is intended to persuade people that the Labour council's budget is putting money in the right places.

This is a political judgement. Under the code of practice that councils have to abide by, City News articles should be politically neutral.

That is the point on which I am asking the district auditor to rule.

Personal attacks and wasting public money is not my style.
