Albion striker Lee Steele made an instant return to the starting line-up at a rain-drenched Withdean on Saturday.
Daniel Webb took over from him for Tuesday's 2-0 home win against Northampton.
Roles were reversed for the visit of crisis club Bury, with Steele partnering Bobby Zamora and Webb back on the bench.
Bury made three changes to the side beaten 4-0 at home by Notts County last Saturday.
Topscorer Gareth Seddon, Lee Connell and Michael Nelson lost their places to Danny Swailes, the fit-again Lee Unsworth and player-manager Andy Preece.
Heavy rain, which started falling about an hour before kick-off, dramatically changed the playing conditions.
Puddles soon formed through the middle of the pitch and it had turned into a nasty day for players and spectators alike.
