A charity football match held in memory of a West Sussex postman who died of cancer could raise £2,500.
Glenn Whitehead, a father-of-two from Shoreham, died last November in St Barnabas Hospice, Columbia Drive, Worthing.
Brighton and Hove Albion manager Peter Taylor formed part of an all-star team drawn up by sports columnist Ian Hart for the game at Woodside Road, Worthing.
They took on a rival side made up of Glenn's colleagues from Worthing Post Office and won 7-3 in front of about 300 spectators.
The cash, which is still coming in, will be presented to the hospice at a later date.
