I am becoming fed up with the battle to build the Falmer stadium.

The current argument to condone building on the countryside appears to rest with whether the area looks pretty or not.

It is acceptable to build on it because it just looks like a field.

The loss of countryside is not just a case of forever removing an attractive area of land, it is a case of destroying habitats.

More and more land is turned over to development so we can spread that little bit more.

We are up in arms when the rainforests are destroyed but it appears justifiable to do the same in our country to pander to our whims.

People complain there are fewer songbirds, hedgehogs, wild flowers and so on, but where do they expect these flora and fauna to live if we continually encroach on their territories?

I wouldn't mind but this destruction is all to fuel our whims for sport and pleasure. How high and mighty we have evolved - awesome.
