The Simon Jones Memorial Campaign has called for a swift investigation into an arson attack at the docks where the student died.
The group was formed following Simon's death in 1998 on his first day as a casual worker with Euromin Ltd at Shoreham Harbour.
With Simon's family, the campaign fought for more than three years for Euromin to be prosecuted over the death.
In November, the firm was fined £50,000 with £20,000 costs for Health and Safety Executive breaches.
On Friday, a major fire devastated the company's operation. Police confirmed they were treating it as arson.
Members of the campaign say they hope the investigation is carried out promptly.
Spokesman Colin Chalmers said: "Simon's death was caused by an appalling lack of Health and Safety procedures.
"We hope the police and other relevant authorities will investigate this latest dangerous occurrence at Euromin fully and quickly. "
Police issued a description of a man they want to interview in relation to the fire.
He is white, aged 25 to 35, of medium build and about 5ft 8in tall. He had blond, curly or wavy collar-length hair and wore a beige jacket and jeans.
