Brighton and Hove Albion boss Peter Taylor has blasted the Withdean whingers for comments made after Saturday's 0-0 draw.

Taylor is angry about remarks directed at him and his promotion chasers during the game against third-bottom Wrexham.

"It know it's only a minority, but I am amazed at those supporters," Taylor said.

"They think their team is the only team that has got to win every match and they are starting to annoy me a bit.

"Some of the things that were said to the players and me are just not acceptable.

"To accuse the players of not trying and no spirit is ridiculous. Where have they been for the last two years?

"It's only a minority, but unfortunately at times like this you hear the minority and not the true fans."

Taylor was pleased with the full League debut of Eastbourne teenager Chris McPhee, who deputised up front for the banned Bobby Zamora.

"I thought he made some fantastic runs and he was a little bit unlucky," Taylor said.

"There were times in the first half when he wanted the ball to run forward and it didn't. The wind held it up.

"If he'd had those opportunities in the second half I think he would have gone on to score goals. He is going to be a very good player and I was delighted with him."

The 18-year-old McPhee, watched by his parents, said: "I was very pleased to be picked and I thought I gave a good account of myself.

"I wasn't happy with the result, but I was happy with my overall performance."

Albion's shortage of striking options has been increased by a first half ankle injury to Gary Hart.

Taylor rates him "extremely doubtful" for tomorrow night's trip to sixth-bottom Bournemouth, when Zamora continues a three-match suspension and Daniel Webb completes a two-game ban.

The Seagulls left for Bournemouth straight after Saturday's clash to prepare for the south coast derby. They go into it four points behind leaders Reading with a game in hand and still six clear in the second automatic promotion spot.

Albion field the youngsters in the reserves for tonight's Sussex Senior Cup quarter-final at Horsham (7.45pm).
