Football stadium, ice rink and, before that, the King Alfred centre.
In my life as a Sussex resident and for the past 11 years in exile, I have heard nothing but hot air emitted by our illustrious council and government planning representatives.
However, ask for a new hotel, shopping centre or business park and, as if by magic, it appears with seemingly little complaint from all and sundry.
Do these representatives not think, just once, they might wish to make a planning decision that will be purely for the pleasure and benefit of locals, not visitors and big business.
Profit should not be the prime consideration all of the time. Please, surprise us. Go on... just once - it might make you feel good.
