I am not surprised - it was anticipated Councillor Jayne Bennett would follow her close friend Councillor Jenny Barnard-Langston and leave the Conservative Party.
Independent councillors are not popular and are rarely chosen by the discerning elector.
The committed councillors, loyal officers and workers for the Conservatives locally do not have time for the back-biting to which Jenny refers (January 28).
We are more interested in regaining power in the forthcoming elections.
