I must comment on a recent letter in these columns made by a Liberal Democrat MEP with regard to the proposed ban on "bull bars" on new 4x4 vehicles.
He stated that countless people, especially children, would be saved from horrific injuries - fair comment.
The only problem with this statement is there is no evidence or statistics to corroborate it.
A person in this position should stick to facts and not hypothesise on the emotive subject of preventing injuries that don't happen.
