After receiving four parking tickets, my partner and I paid a visit to the Hove parking office, where we were advised we had, in fact, received seven parking tickets and that children are removing tickets from cars.

We had a residents' parking permit for zone B clearly displayed and were legally parked each time.

As a result, we are finding ourselves in a battle with Brighton and Hove City Council to try to make some sense out of all this.

The council does not listen to us and keeps saying we didn't have a valid voucher displayed.

We don't need a voucher: We have paid-for parking permit. We received no tickets until the new wardens were introduced.

A warden in the street we spoke with told us they don't care and neither does the council. They just want to make as much money as possible.

We know of at least one other person having the same problems. How many others too?

The council is always saying it is trying to cut parking congestion (fair enough) but treating permit-paying residents in this manner is despicable.

I would urge anyone in the same situation to fight their case. Intimidation of innocents should have no place in this city.

If our case is not resolved, we will seek legal action against the council.

Maybe everyone in this situation should get together for a joint case or representation.
