Bev Wallace has just had the most extraordinary day of her life.

During what started as a routine working day she:

became a Good Samaritan for a foul-mouthed, dope-smoking "vicar"

bought sexy underwear with a star from her favourite soap
turned down a request from the star of her least favourite TV show
discovered she had a lesbian admirer.

And it didn't end there. Shop manageress Bev, from Brighton, also found a fiver in her cornflakes, bumped into the accordion player who serenaded her at her wedding and took delivery of a bizarre gift from an uncle she'd never heard of.

And to round off an unbelievable 24 hours, she discovered she was the star of her own TV show.

Fifty hidden cameras had been filming Bev from the moment she woke up and each extraordinary encounter was caught on film.

Unbeknown to her, Bev's friends and husband Bob had set her up as a "victim" in a new TV series called Make My Day, where unwitting members of the public are plunged into the weirdest, coincidence-filled 24 hours of the lives.

Each participant encounters a number of challenges and making the right decision can win them a holiday.

Bev, 27, who works at Gatwick Airport, said: "It was an unbelievable day, an absolute ball. As things got more and more weird I was thinking, 'What is going on?' and I made a joke about Jeremy Beadle, but I never dreamt I was in a TV show."

Bob, 30, a teacher, was forced to bite his lip as Bev's day got more outlandish.

At one point, Tom from Channel 4's Big Brother came into Bev's shop and asked for a Saturday job.

Bev said: "I didn't like Big Brother but Tom was very nice, although I still didn't give him a job."

When she returned home to Buckingham Street she had to squeeze past two lovers entwined in a passionate clinch on her doorstep.

Then a delivery man arrived with a picture, a painting of Bev and Bob in the buff in the Garden of Eden.

The penultimate surprise of the day came when former Coronation Street star Denise Black invited her to a friend's soiree, which turned out to be an S and M party.

Finally, TV presenter Sara Cox, who hosts the show, appeared on a giant screen to reveal all.

Bev has always dreamed of going on an African Safari.

Did she win her dream trip to the Serengeti? We don't want to spoil the outcome, so you'll have to watch.

Make My Day can be seen on digital service E4 on Wednesday at 9pm and will be shown on Channel 4 early next year.
