Afghan women and girls who have missed out on education under Taliban rule will be helped by a Sussex-based charity.
The Starfish initiative, based in Nutley, near Uckfield, is sending a mobile classroom to the south of Afghanistan as soon as it is safe to do so.
It will include an interactive learning DVD dubbed in the Pashtun language.
A spokesman said the cost of the fully-equipped classroom was £100,000.
The project is being backed by Cherie Blair, former South African president Nelson Mandela and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr George Carey.
The Starfish initiative was launched in April to help people in the developing world who fail to receive an education.
