Hundreds of people gathered in the rain to see the launch of Worthing's Christmas lights last night.
Stars of the town's two pantomimes, Cinderella and Jack and the Beanstalk joined the festivities in South Place.
Bucks Fizz, and Shadows guitarist Bruce Welsh also attended, with Splash FM providing the roadshow.
Town centre manager Anne Angel has been raising cash to fund the lights but still needs another £4,000 towards her £10,000 total.
The Argus has contributed £1,050, with scores of businesses also chipping in.
Anne hopes Chapel Road's superpubs will dig into their pockets to meet the balance.
Over the weekend, the Scottish Pipe Band and the Chanctonbury Morris Men will be performing in the town centre.
