Does bubble wrap pop your world? The packaging material has been a source of fascination for people of all ages since its invention.

Children have been known to play with it longer than the presents it protected and adults continue to seek its stress-relieving comforts long after the last bubble has burst.

It is a bit of a surprise someone managed to burst free from his or her addiction long enough to create the Wonderful World of Bubble Wrap web site.

The first section deals with the diagnostics of different bubbles - from easy to squeeze "snappers" to "buddy bubbles", which reinflate a neighbouring bubble when they are squeezed, through to unfulfilling "duds".

There is the small question of bubble etiquette. The site warns not to pop other people's bubble wrap or request people to share their wrap.

There are some handy tips about how best to blast the bubbles, from a simple pop between thumb and index finger to multi-pop extravaganzas by crushing handfuls of bubbles in your fist, smashing them against any surface or trampling on them.

There's even virtual bubble wrap to point and pop, a poor second to the real thing but it never runs out. Pop!
