A family had to jump from their lounge window early today after arsonists torched a car next to their flat.
The father, mother and young child escaped unharmed after a Nissan Sunny was set ablaze near the ground-floor flat at 2am.
They fled as smoke seeped in and flames touched the two-storey property in Midhurst Road, Hampden Park, Eastbourne.
Firefighters spent more than an hour at the scene.
The resident on the floor above was said to be away.
Police are investigating.
