Albion boss Peter Taylor is putting his weight behind the club's bid for a new stadium at Falmer.
Taylor said: "I spoke to the chairman about a new stadium on the night I had my interview and I know they are all trying very hard to make it happen.
"One of the reasons I was interested in coming to Brighton was the support we can get, so the quicker this stadium is sorted out we will have 20,000 or more watching us.
"It will allow me, or whoever is manager, to attract better players if you could pay better wages."
Family commitments prevent Taylor from attending a public meeting about the stadium project at Hove Town Hall on Monday (7.30).
Chairman Dick Knight and chief executive Martin Perry will provide an update on Albion's two planning applications for the Falmer site.
