A Mod has vowed to restore his prized collection of scooters set alight in a suspected arson attack.

Jason Greg, of Broadwater Road, Worthing, had been building up and customising Vespers for 15 years.

He was woken at 3.30am today by the sound of vandals breaking into his locked garage behind the house before discovering the damaged scooters.

Mr Greg, 33, has been a scooter enthusiast since he was 18. Three of his own machines and two scooters owned by a friend were in the garage when it was set alight.

All five scooters were badly damaged in what fire officers said was "a malicious ignition."

Mr Greg said: "Scooters are a hobby of mine and I've been collecting for 15 years.

"I'll just sort the scooters out. I'll re-paint them and work on them again.

"These things don't just happen.

"I don't know who did this but my garage was locked at the time."

Two fire crews were called to the scene and police were investigating today.
