Lewes paid dearly for missing a succession of chances as they slipped up at home to Stourport in National League Division One.

Two goals from the visitors' El-Khatib, one in each half, condemned Lewes to a 2-1 defeat. Steve Edmonds had scored the home side's equaliser in the 49th minute with a shot into the top corner.

Manager Peter Boyse groaned: "Basically we were robbed and Stourport admitted as much afterwards. We had all the game but their goalkeeper played exceptionally well."

Meanwhile, Chichester scored a last minute equaliser as they held Southern Premier leaders Richmond to a 2-2 draw.

Chi's midfield took control early on and their superiority was rewarded after ten minutes when Henry Stremes fed Bryan Lock inside the circle and his shot flew into the corner.

If their short corner routine had been fluent Chi would have added to their lead as Oli Lane-Smith regularly opened up Richmond's defence.

But a deflection off Robert Pywell at a corner enabled Richmond to equalise before half-time and in the second half the home side began to dominate and eventually took the lead from another corner ten minutes from time. But Chi earned a point when Peter Turner drilled in a short corner.

Horsham claimed a place in the third round of the HA Trophy after beating Luton Town 4-1 on flicks. Goalkeeper Neil Burlinson was the Horsham hero, saving three flicks.

The match had finished 5-5, with Horsham twice fighting back from two goals down. Ian Brown scored four and captain Mark Ansell got the other.
