Thanks to Fiona Train for her kind comments about me (Letters, November 7).
She shows how cock-eyed the farming subsidy system is and how much the EU Common Agricultural Policy needs the reform the Government wants.
I am backing Joan Ruddock's Parliamentary Early Day Motion calling for a strategy for 30 per cent of farmland to be farmed organically by 2010.
However, meeting this target not only needs government backing. It also needs far more people to demand and buy organic produce than happens at the moment.
