Seaford player-boss Duncan Kneller had a weekend to forget as Westfield's Duncan Jones scored five times in their 6-0 Division Two Cup romp at the Crouch.

Defender Kneller took charge for the second time after Barry Knight's resignation but his side gave "probably their worst display of the season" as Westfield cruised to victory with Kevin Rose also on target.

Jones took his tally to ten goals in five games since joining from Hailsham. The Seaford defence have now conceded 11 goals in two games, although their last match was against division one leaders Burgess Hill.

Kneller said: "My objective now is to stop us leaking goals. I think if we can do that, then we will be okay."

Shoreham and Crawley Down were evenly-matched for 90 minutes of their clash but Roger Brace's side ran away with the tie during extra time as Darren Annis, Matt Gray, with a fine header, and Martin O'Donnell all found the net.

Shoreham boss Brace said: "Promotion is our main priority but anything else is a bit of bonus. I am not one of those managers who says we're just concentrating on the league, we go out to win every game."

East Preston closed the gap on leaders Shoreham to eight points after a 3-0 victory over struggling Storrington in division two.

An early goal by Andy Quigg gave EP the perfect start before their striker Matty Huckett was sent off for foul and abusive language. Further goals came from Simon Clayton and 17-year-old substitute Josh Biggs, who lobbed the keeper from the halfway line.

East Preston boss Vic Short said: "It wasn't easy and though they are struggling they are a strong side and I was pleased with the result."

East Grinstead are well placed in third spot after they enjoyed a 1-0 victory over another side with promotion aspirations, Eastbourne Town.

A Steve Greig penalty with 15 minutes to go decided the match after Dave Gellatly's 30-yard run was ended by the full-back's challenge just inside the area.

Oakwood saw off Oving 3-2 with goals from Chris Belgrave and Chris Hughes (2), although the visitors pushed them all the way as John Edwards and Andy Durrant netted.

Wealden's Darren Brown scored a hat-trick in a see-saw battle with visiting Shinewater but ended up on the losing side as 17-year-old Richard Piper (2), James Body and Paul Oldroyd hit the target, with Piper getting the winner in the 89th minute.

Mile Oak also had an away win, sinking Worthing United 2-1 with Reilly and Mulvee on target after Stuart Anderson had scored for the hosts.

Rye United manager Alan Hodd is worried his side will be distracted from their main aim of promotion but it did not stop them winning 3-1 at Broadbridge Heath in round three of the RUR Cup. Scott Price, Sean Ray and Simon Colbran scored, Paul Gallagher replied for Heath.
