Having been educated in Brighton 45 or so years ago, I was shocked on viewing the demise of so many schools I knew as a boy.
For example, Fawcett, Margaret Hardy and the Brighton and Hove Grammar School seem to have completely disappeared, along with the Technical School and, although I already knew that my old school, Westlain Grammar - that much-vaunted modern academy of advanced learning, to quote The Argus's own headline on it becoming the first co-ed grammar school in the South East - was combined with Stanmer Secondary, I presume they are now part of the Falmer School or College whose results I noted.
On a more pleasant note, may I congratulate The Argus on an excellent web site. It is marvellous to be able to follow the Albion again, with up-to-date results and comments. The sooner the new stadium at Falmer is built, the better for all.
