Outside half Andy Pinnock is being tipped as the new signing who can help guide Brighton to an overdue first win of the season.

Bert Merritt's side host old rivals Lewes in a London Three South East basement battle tomorrow from 3 pm.

The sides have mustered just one point between them so far but coach Merritt believes his men can put that right.

Merritt said: "We really need a win. With the strength of the side and the way we have been playing, we should not be down at the bottom of the table.

"Andy has good experience and he can run the plays which fit perfectly with the style of rugby we are developing."

Pinnock, who made his debut in the narrow defeat at East Grinstead last week, progressed through the Harlequins ranks and has played National League rugby for Havant and Tabard.

Lock Danie Venter makes his first appearance of the season and Merritt said: "He will make a difference because at last we have got a lineout specialist."

Lewes have a doubt over flanker Ben wood (flanker) but No. 8 Richard Siggs continues after a decent comeback last week.

Worthing give a league debut to former Chichester university student Paul Todd on the right wing at Charlton Park. Todd will take the kicks with Tony Cruz away.

Charlie McGowan comes in to add mobility to the second row and there is a return for Jon Quirk in the centre.

Centre Magnus McKie gets a first start for Crawley as they chase an overdue away win at Tonbridge Juddian.

Player/coach Steve Silver also gets an outing at lock with Derek Meikle waiting for a shoulder operation.

Haywards Heath can get back to winning form with a repeat of last weeks' showing in the narrow defeat at Norwich according to Henry Goodburn.

The Heath skipper is unavailable for the clash with Sutton and Epsom in London One but expects his side to maintain their unbeaten home run which stretches almost three years.

Goodburn said: "The approach and preparation last week were exactly how every game should be in this division."

John Skoulding replaces Goodburn on the wing and Nick Killick returns at hooker.

The Four South East promotion race centres on events at Bognor and Hove.

Bognor, who host third placed Guy's Hospital, have a doubt over scrum half Richard Hine, who took a blow to the cheekbone in last week's draw at Eastbourne.

Skipper Karl Flynn admitted: "We took too much for granted at the start of the season but it is finally hitting home how much hard work we have to do."

Hove hope to topple leaders Betteshanger while Eastbourne should return to winning form at Askeans.

Horsham host Heathfield in a top-of-the-table Sussex One clash but will be missing the holidaying Matt Stone. Veteran Richard Bell earns a recall to the bench.

Heathfield outside half Guy Woods is away so Lewis Beale wears ten and Bryn Jones, a newcomer to the club from south Wales, operates at fullback.
