Brighton Kemp Town MP Des Turner was happy to present Brighton and Hove Fencing Club with a National Lottery cheque for almost £5,000.
He used to be a fencer and squeezed into his old kit to battle the club secretary.
Dr Turner doesn't have much time for sport any more. At Westminster, he's taking part instead in the cut and thrust of political debate.
