Mary Silver entertained television audiences of millions in the Seventies.

The teenage Ms Silver regularly appeared on Top of the Pops as one of the sexy dancing troupe Pan's People.

Two and a half decades later, she is manager of the Wayland Business Centre, Western Road, Hove, and puts her energy into making sure the offices run as smoothly as her old dance routines.

Ms Silver said: "We opened the centre this summer to provide professional office space and administrative support.

"We have 21 offices for single occupancy or company teams. The spaces are suitable for all types of business and we already have a good mix, including a sub-office for energy drink Red Bull, online takeaway information service, Fullmenu.co.uk, and property services, ACG."

The concept of the centre is to make life easier for occupants by providing telephone cover from 9am to 5pm and taking care of the day-to-day office management, such as mail and message handling.

Ms Silver said: "When a call comes in our receptionist Vicky can see who it is for and answer accordingly, acting as a personal first point of contact for every company in the building.

"We either route a call through or take messages as needed. I make sure everything else is taken care of, from office heating to insurance.

"I visit all the offices daily to see if there are any issues needing attention to take the pressure away from everyone else."

The building was previously used by a publishing company and was refurbished before becoming the business centre.

Ms Silver said: "We have decorated with black and gold, giving a very sophisticated look. We have been told by visitors it has an air of professionalism which is exactly what we were aiming at."
