Peter Taylor read about his signing in The Argus just minutes after he was revealed as the new Albion manager.

Special editions of the paper were handed out at a Press conference at Withdean Stadium's hospitality suite yesterday afternoon.

Seconds after the former England manager stopped speaking, 50 copies were given out to national sports reporters, radio journalists and TV crews.

Simon Dack, chief photographer of The Argus, handed a copy to Taylor, who had his first chance to see his appointment as team boss confirmed in print.

As he looked at the paper and posed for pictures, other reporters read copies to keep up with the news.

Taylor later asked for three copies to keep.

The Argus printed the special edition after the normal evening edition, in which it was exclusively revealed that Taylor looked certain to be the new manager.
