Coverage of the hot topics in Sussex has been put online.

A new section of the thisis web sites, Local Issues, has full information on the news stories affecting the county.

Topics on the site include the Albion's plans for a new stadium at Falmer, the Brighton and Hove referendum for a directly-elected mayor and The Argus campaign to keep breast cancer services open in Brighton and Hove.

Each issue has its own set of pages with information about the background to the story, opinions for and against the cause, and the latest news as it happens.

Jim Caunter, thisis assistant producer, said: "The section offers a detailed look at the news everyone is talking about.

"The aim is to provide a single point of access for a comprehensive look at the issues.

"Many of these stories have been rolling for some time. The Albion stadium plans have been in the pipeline for years and much of what is happening now relates to the previous debates.

"Anyone wanting to make themselves familiar with the whole story will find this a valuable place to visit."

Message boards will be added to the section in the next month.

Mr Caunter said: "The message boards are a key part of the development of the section.

"It is vital we provide an online discussion forum to allow this section to become an interactive community resource, giving everyone interested in these issues a voice."

The team is working on preparing information on mobile phone masts, proposals for a South Downs National Park and the future of the West Pier to be added to the site in the near future.
