A charge of violent disorder against a Sussex sports writer arrested in connection with soccer crowd trouble has been dropped.
Daniel Griffiths, 41, of Burnham Gardens, Bognor, was alleged to have been involved in violence during a match between Coventry City and Portsmouth on September 22.
At a hearing before magistrates in Coventry, the prosecution applied for the charge to be withdrawn.
Magistrates agreed that the charge against Griffiths, who works for the Portsmouth News and the Portsmouth Pink newspapers, be withdrawn.
Griffiths was not at the match in a professional capacity.
