A group of teenage girls were subjected to an unprovoked attack by two men in Eastbourne.
One of the four girls - who were all 15 - was punched in the head, knocked to the ground and kicked.
The others were punched and received minor injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, which took place at the junction of Cavendish Avenue and Marine Parade between 9pm and 9.30pm on Friday.
One of the offenders is described as dark, about 5ft 8in tall and of average build. He had black hair and wore a dark shirt and black jeans.
