Two men have appeared before magistrates after police seized crack cocaine thought to be worth more than £300,000.

David Moore, 34, of Thornton Heath, Essex, was arrested in Polegate High Street after four kilos of the drug were seized in a house in Norman's Bay.

Alfred Fernandez, 61, of Station Road, Bexhill, was also arrested by police and charged along with Moore for supplying a controlled substance.

They appeared before magistrates in Croydon on October 11 and were remanded in custody. The pair will be back before the courts on October 18.

The drugs are believed to have a street value of £350,000 and officers from Sussex Police, Surrey Police and the National Crime Squad were involved in the arrests.

Detective Sergeant John Cousin, of East Downs CID, said: "This joint operation has resulted in an immense amount of illegal substances being removed from the streets of East Sussex."
