MONDAY: Geoff Pitcher is poised for his first home start against Stoke after praise from Micky Adams for his full debut at Wrexham.

"I wanted to give Geoff his chance," Adams says.

"He has been working hard in training and reserve matches and he has enough ability in the final third of the pitch to do some damage.

"The one thing we perhaps lack in midfield is that little bit of creativity."

TUESDAY: Albion go back to the top of the table with a last-gasp victory over Stoke at Withdean.

Paul Watson slots the only goal four minutes into stoppage time to clinch the Seagulls' 11th home League win in a row.

Michel Kuipers makes a brilliant second half stop to foil fellow Dutchman Peter Hoekstra. Simon Morgan finishes a bruising battle with his head bandaged to protect a cut which requires three stitches.

WEDNESDAY: Adams pays tribute to Albion's resilience. "I don't think either team deserved to lose or win, but we will take it," he declares.

"Stoke are big and physical. We had to match them for that and there was some heroic defending at times."

Chris McPhee scores in a 2-1 friendly defeat for the reserves at Millwall.

There are fresh fears for the site of Albion's proposed stadium at Falmer as it is revealed it could be inside the borders of the new South Downs national park.

THURSDAY: Adams is "disappointed" to be top.

"We are there to be shot at now and sometimes when you are top it can affect you," he warns.

Bournemouth midfielder James Hayter aims to make the Seagulls pay for releasing him as a schoolboy.

"I played for Brighton at under 15 and under 16 level, but they didn't take me on," Hayter explains.

"It was a big disappointment for me. Getting a knockback in your career always is."

FRIDAY: Andy Crosby is transfer-listed at his own request.

"He is 28 and wants first team football and I can understand that," Adams says.

"He did a magnificent job for me last season and I am disappointed he feels the need to get away, but I don't want to keep any unhappy players."
