My car is a new-ish Ford Transit van converted very neatly into a camper van.
Because my car is too heavy, I am not entitled to a residents' parking permit and so have to take my chances if I want to park overnight within a mile of my home.
The new parking wardens seem to be very keen and so I am vigilant about parking legally.
Last night, I parked in a Brunswick Square residents' parking space, which is legal 8pm to 9am but overslept and got to the van after 9.30, half expecting a parking ticket. I found a cheery note from a friendly resident scrawled in block capitals on an old envelope stuck to my windscreen.
It said: "You are not entitled to park here. Your tax disc is out of date. Police have been informed. Move out or take the consequences."
Perhaps I am thin skinned but surely life is hard enough without poison pen parking vigilantes spreading their misery. By the way, I do have a tax disc valid for the next six months.
