Rye United made a spectacular start to senior football as they hammered Mile Oak 5-0 in division two of the Rich City County League on Saturday.
Shaun loft scored twice with debutant Simon Colbran, Scott Price and Sean Ray also on target.
Two of the three sides relegated from division one enjoyed 1-1 draws. New boy Jamie Cole netted an equaliser for Lancing as they drew with Worthing United, for whom Stuart Anderson had hit the opener.
David Walker gave East Preston a first half lead but they had to settle for a point after Phil Thompson's free kick drew East Grinstead level.
The other relegated side, Eastbourne Town, lost 1-0 to Seaford on Friday.
Graham Vivian, Cowlard and Chris Hughes netted as Oakwood beat Bosham 3-1, with Redman getting the consolation, while Matt Stevenson and Danny Kemsley were on target as Crawley Down triumphed 2-1 at Broadbridge Heath, for whom Paul Young replied.
Westfield sunk Wealden 3-0 with goals from Darren Paine, Trevor Burgess and Nick Hall, while Neil Dorrell's lone strike earned Storrington the points at Shinewater. Shoreham beat Oving 2-1 thanks to Dave Martin and an own goal. Matt Clark replied.
