A family saw their caravan destroyed after it burst into flames as they towed it home.
They were travelling back to Kent on the A21 north of Sedlescombe, near Battle, when an electrical fault in the fridge started the blaze.
The father, who was driving, managed to pull on to the hard shoulder at 9pm last night and unhitch the caravan from his Ford Mondeo.
His wife and three young children, who had been on holiday in Hastings, stood and watched helplessly as the fire wrecked the caravan.
The road was closed for about an hour as firefighters put out the blaze.
A clubhouse was almost burnt down after vandals set fire to furniture at a trout farm.
The offenders smashed fencing to get into Yew Tree Trout Fishery at Rotherfield, near Crowborough.
They broke into the clubhouse and stacked up chairs, then set them alight.
Police called the arson attack on Saturday night "a mindless act of vandalism".
