The story regarding the schoolboy Joshua Wadsworth was extremely worrying.

Bus drivers are in a position of trust because we place our safety in their hands every day. The fact that a driver was convicted of inconsiderate driving and failing to ensure the safety of passengers while driving a public-service vehicle and was not immediately taken from the bus route which this child used is deplorable.

Children and the elderly are the vunerable element of society and extra care should always be taken when dealing with them.

Judging by his comments, Roger French appears to be unconcerned about a court case against one of his drivers, otherwise he would have taken this incident more seriously.

There should be guidelines and a code of practice for bus drivers. Was this man suspended from driving? What was his punishment from the bus company for endangering a passenger? Why is he still driving buses? Is the kind of man we want driving our buses?
