A woman has won £1,723 from a golf club which admitted it unfairly sacked her.
Karen Gravely, 44, was claiming more than £5,000 from Cowdray Park Golf Club, near Midhurst, which sacked her in February.
At a tribunal in Brighton yesterday, she was awarded £1,723 plus £200 costs and told she could keep a £1,000 payment given to her by the club after she was fired.
The club first said it had sacked her for misconduct and said she had been late for work, had poor typing and computer skills and spread malicious gossip.
At the beginning of July, it withdrew those claims and offered a £1,500 settlement, which was refused, as well as the £1,000 she was paid after being sacked.
Mother-of-two Mrs Gravely, of Goodwood Close, Midhurst, said she even tried to return the £1,000 to the club but it refused to take it.
After the tribunal, she said: "It was never really a question of money but the mental cost of this whole episode to myself and my family has been incalculable."
Mrs Gravely now works for an estate agency in Midhurst.
