Thousands of pounds will be needed to provide new sea protection measures if a study is approved.

Initial findings of the Government-funded study between the eastern arm of Brighton Marina and the A27 flyover on the River Adur were revealed in The Argus earlier this year.

Now a final draft of the report has been prepared, covering both riverbank improvements and sea defences.

It has been carried out by Brighton and Hove City Council, Adur District Council and the Environment Agency.

The Government will be asked to fund most of any work deemed necessary.

Proposals include enlarging some of the groynes near Hove Lagoon and King's Esplanade.

The report will be available to read at the information advice centre in Bartholomew Square, Brighton, from August 7 to 17, between 9am and 4.30pm from Mondays to Thursdays and 9.30am until 4pm on Fridays.

It will also be available between the same days at the Adur Civic Centre in Shoreham.
