A teenager was chased along the street by a razor-wielding thug.
The 16-year-old boy was approached in St James's Street, Brighton, at 5pm yesterday by three men.
He was asked if he came from London. When he answered no, one of the men pulled out a barber's razor from his trouser waistband.
A police spokesman said: "He was chased by one of the men who swung at him several times with the razor but did not cut him."
The boy ran off towards Edward Street and turned back to see the attacker walking away.
The men were of Afro-Caribbean appearance and all wore baseball caps.
The teenager said the man with the razor wore a blue Nike cap.
