Disruption is expected when a busy stretch of the A27 is closed for bridge strengthening work.
The road at Shoreham will be closed in both directions from Tuesday until July 29 from 10pm to 6am while work is carried out on the Adur Viaduct.
The road will be open during the day but will be narrower than usual until the end of July.
Only one lane will be open in each direction between 10am and 4pm each day as work is carried out on the steel structure and concrete deck of the bridge.
The work is part of a £1.7 million project, expected to be completed in December, to ensure the long-term safety of the structure.
The Highways Agency said the work had been planned for times of day when disruption would be minimised but warned drivers to expect delays.
