The Brighton, Hove and District Battalion of The Boys' Brigade has been holding its annual camp at Glynde, near Lewes, for the past 78 years.

This year, for the first time since the Second World War, the future of the camp was threatened by the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease.

We are happy to say, after careful negotiations with the local farming community in Glynde, the camp will be going ahead from Friday, July 27, until Friday, August 3.

We have, however, decided in the interests of the local community we will not be able to hold a visitors' evening as usual on the Wednesday we are in camp.

It is with regret that we ask all friends, parents and old boys of the battalion not to come over to camp on that evening because we will not be able to allow them into camp. We are only able to accept visitors by previously-arranged appointment.
