Music filled the air at Seaford's popular family fun day as hundreds tried swing, disco and Latino line dancing.

Hundreds of people poured into the Downs Leisure Centre for the event, which raised money for dozens of local causes including the museum, library, lifeguards and allotment association.

Away from the dancefloor some visitors took part in a pet show featuring the pet-most-like-its-owner category while youngsters enjoyed a pirate fancy dress competition.

Pamela Marwood, from the Friends of Seaford Library, said: "There were loads of people streaming around and there was dancing going on all the time.

"Everyone was very cheerful and lively and it was a lovely day despite the chilly wind, which is par for the course in Seaford."

Mayor Les Whittle and his wife Jean got down to some old fashioned rock 'n' roll, dressed in their civic regalia.

Coun Whittle said: "There were more children there than ever before, which was great because we run the event for the youngsters of the town.

"My wife and I love dancing and it was a really great day."
