For those advocating that councils should revert to a modified committee structure, be warned.
Learn from the chaos now ensuing in Adur, where the unholy CIA now running the council has decided not to separate executive functions from that of scrutiny.
This is despite assurances to the contrary in the run-up to last month's local elections. It's clear the CIA intends, like its Tory chums in West Sussex, to railroad through cuts in services without proper examination.
In Tory Adur, the order of the day will be governance behind shut doors and a return to "yah-boo" confrontational politics. Local people will be ill-served by a ruling elite whose only hunger is for power, not serving the people.
-Mike Willson, councillor for Eastbrook Ward, Mile Oak Crescent, Southwick
