A motorist died after a two-car head-on crash at a notorious West Sussex accident spot.
The man died in hospital after suffering serious head and chest injuries in the crash on the A29 at Slindon on Sunday morning.
The male driver of the other car escaped with bruised ribs.
The scene of the crash is an accident blackspot where parish councillors have been calling for traffic calming measures.
The two men were driving in opposite directions on the A29 when their cars collided close to the The Spur pub around 9.40am.
They were both taken to St Richards Hospital, Chichester, for treatment.
Clive Smith, landlord of The Spur, said: "It's a death trap on this road. There have been lots and lots of accidents."
Police have not yet identified the dead man.
