Sussex have dropped Will House from their Championship team for today's game against Warwickshire at Hove (11am).
House makes way for fit-again Chris Adams as the county bid to end their dismal run of results against the Bears.
Warwickshire have won on their last four visits to Hove, three of them by an innings and the other by ten wickets.
There is no love lost between the sides following last season's encounter when Adams confronted umpire David Constant after he had controversially been given out lbw during Sussex's second innings.
The ECB eventually decided to take no action, although Warwickshire's Neil Smith was disappointed with their decision and made his views public.
Smith lost the captaincy at the end of last season so Warwickshire, who have won one and drawn two of their Championship matches so far, will be led by 21-year-old Michael Powell.
Adams will have to take four painkillers to ease the discomfort he still feels after breaking his thumb against Worcestershire exactly a month ago.
He returned to make 37 in Wednesday's Benson and Hedges Cup defeat against Surrey when Sussex lost by 53 runs, their first defeat after five successive wins.
Adams said: "We've played some good cricket in the Championship so far and I'm backing the lads to bounce back strongly today."
Jason Lewry, who took nine wickets in the win over Nottinghamshire a fortnight ago, replaces Mark Robinson in the attack while a familar face will be taking the new ball for Warwickshire.
West Indian Vasbert Drakes had two seasons with Sussex before linking-up for a summer at Nottinghamshire. He replaced Allan Donald as Warwickshire's overseas player this year.
Warwickshire have included 21-year-old Jamie Spires, a left-arm spinner with Birmingham League club Knowle and Dorridge, and South African-born left-armer Neil Carter in their 13 man squad.
But Ashley Giles, who made a century in their win at Hove a year ago, is still ruled out by a knee injury.
Sussex: Montgomerie, Goodwin, Yardy, Zuiderent, Adams, Rashid, Martin-Jenkins, Prior, Davis, Kirtley, Lewry.
Warwickshire (from): Powell, Knight, Wagh, Ostler, Hemp, Brown, Smith, Drakes, Richardson, Betts, Carter, Spires.
