More than a thousand people flocked to take part in the BBC's Antiques Roadshow programme.
Everything from family heirlooms to worthless bric-a-brac was brought to be valued by the team of celebrity experts at a recording of the show in Haywards Heath yesterday.
Marie Grant-Stevens, of Burgess Hill, was chosen to have her unusual collection of late 19th Century bone and ivory ornaments valued in front of the television cameras.
She said: "I could not believe how much they were valued at and it's nice to find out a little bit more about the things you keep in your loft."
Janie Wellbourne, who lives near Tunbridge Wells, brought in a Seventies talking Barbie doll - which she provided the voice for herself.
She was working as an 18-year-old actress in London when she successfully auditioned to tape the phrases.
She still has an original, fully operational model which was valued at between £250 and £300.
The programme was filmed at the Dolphin Leisure Centre, Pasture Hill Road, and will be screened in the autumn.
