A car smashed into a garage forecourt after coming off a dual carriageway at the foot of a steep hill.
The crash happened at the foot of Hammerpot Hill, near Arundel, on the westbound A27 in the early minutes of today.
The Toyota sports car crashed into the Hammerpot Garage forecourt.
It hit several cars before coming to rest against the garage building, which suffered major structural damage.
A man and a local woman who were in the car were seriously injured and were taken to Worthing Hospital.
A police spokeswoman said their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers are appealing for witnesses.
