Anthony Seldon (Argus, April 19) might have pointed out that all a country can reasonably demand of an incoming government is that it should deliver on the promises it makes during the election.

If it delivers more, then such is a bonus. On this basis, the Labour Government - at the end of a five-year period - will have achieved most, if not all, of its manifesto promises. What other government has kept so many specific promises made during an election campaign?
