It angers me that when I am out enjoying a sociable evening in a pub, be it in Brighton or anywhere else in the country, the evening is brought to an abrupt halt at 10.50pm with the call of "last orders" and that ten minutes later I am more or less ushered out of the door.

Why is it, in this day and age, when we are so much in step with Europe, we have to endure these archaic and unpopular licensing laws that the rest of Europe would simple not tolerate?

Ask any visiting European.
