When the self-adhesive postage stamps first came out, I thought, "Goody, no more licking to do."

Now I realise the disadvantages. When needing or wanting to enclose a stamp with my letter, there is no little bit of sticky paper at the end of the stamp for me to attach to my missive. I can't even give it a little lick at the corner.

Sheesh! Modern technology has overtaken me and I now have to cut around the stamp, from the book, which means using other ways of sticking it to the letter, plus leaving a gap in my original book of stamps.

Are we never satisfied?
