INTERNATIONAL rugby comes to Brighton for the second time today as England under-16s take on Italy at Waterhall.

The match is the second of England's campaign, following a 13-3 defeat of Wales at Worcester last Sunday.

It follows on from the highly successful under-19 clash last year between England and France at the same ground.

The English won a tremendously entertaining encounter that day by 28-21 in front of around 2,000 spectators, many of them of school age.

A similar turnout is envisaged this year, with the gates opening at midday and the Army laying on a range of spectacular attractions ahead of kick-off at 2.30pm.

Italy will be fielding their under-17 team in a bid to make the match as competitive as possible.

There is no Sussex represenatation in the home side, who are led by lock Tom Ryder of Notts, Lincs and Derbys.

Dorset & Wilts, Kent and Lancashire each provide two players to the England starting line-up.

Haywards Heath have another change of venue as they bid to maintain their title charge in London Two South. They have switched their clash with Gravesend to the Kent side's ground, with the return now due at Whitemans Green on May 12.

Their double header last weekend gave threequarters Henry Goodburn and Vince Rolandi a chance to return from injury.

Rolandi starts today in place of Giles Goodburn, who pulled a thigh muscle within five minutes of starting the game against Bognor.

Skipper Dave Wattam said: "They seem to be a tag team, those two. One or other of them is usually injured."

Haywards Heath: A. Cook, Pymm, Rolandi, Benstead, Ashton, Graham, Meredith; Edwards, Denslow, Sheppard, Atkin, Lyall, Wattam, D. Cook, Rankin. Reps: H. Goodburn, Swain, Virgin.
